Abstract

The tremendous developments in information and communication technologies have imposed on libraries, information centers, and archival institutions the importance of choosing an information specialist. The role of the library and information specialist is no longer only to help identify the problem, but also to find information that helps solve that problem.

In order for the qualifications of this specialist to be compatible with this modern information technology, it has become necessary for him to have qualifications in computer science, communication science, library science, and business administration, in order to be able to provide a high-quality service to the beneficiaries, and to be able to complete his work with high efficiency.

In light of this problem, we wanted to address in this paper the role that the specialist will play in libraries, information centers and archival institutions, and the characteristics that he must possess in order to be able to face challenges and develop in his profession, because the craft that the individual learned yesterday after effort, effort and time Long has no guarantee of work for the rest of his life.
