Abstract

The twenty-first century witnessed a massive revolution in information and communications technology, a revolution that exceeded all expectations and brought about political, economic and social changes, as the society of this century became dependent on information to a large extent and without limits, until it became called the information society.

One of the characteristics of the information society is its reliance on information, which is the basic foundation and main source for decision-making and a pillar of progress in all fields. Therefore, whoever owns information in our present time has the reins of power, control and control.

From this standpoint, the information gap appeared between two different categories, the basis of which was the lack of equitable distribution of information. The first category took over the production of information, its dissemination, dissemination, investment in it, and dominance in it. This category represents the developed industrial countries. On the other hand, a second category emerged whose features include consumption of information, a wide market, and a field for experiments. For developed countries, represented by developing countries, this gap or gap did not come about as a result of chance, but rather as a result of various factors and reasons. Hence, we tried to address one of the aspects of the information society, which is the information gap, by identifying its causes and ways to overcome it.
