Abstract

A paper presented to a workshop on the new standard for bibliographic description “RDA”. The paper dealt with four main sections. The first section deals with the general features and basic pillars of the new standard, and the second section presents in detail the construction of the standard and the different chapters it includes and the areas of use of each of them, and discusses The third section dealt with the issue of Arabizing the new standard and the need for the Arabization process, and the parties proposed to undertake the Arabization process. The fourth section dealt with applied models for bibliographic records that were indexed using the new standard. This section was published separately as an appendix to the paper.
