Abstract

This brief study presents a model of the experience of government institutions in the Sultanate of Oman in preserving the administrative archives of these institutions and the development of the preservation stages. It begins with defining the term archive and the administrative documents sections. Then the study dealt with the experience of the Ministry of Housing, Electricity and Water and its document management and preservation systems. The study focused on the system for preserving real estate documents. Starting from the traditional preservation system to the optical preservation system for real estate documents, it also discusses the pros and cons of the experiment, while presenting some suggestions and recommendations necessary to develop the experiment in the future.
