Libraries and the information services they provide on the Internet face a set of challenges imposed by rapid developments in information technology and remote communications. The direct search service in the library catalog is one of the most prominent services provided by libraries, and the importance of this service is increasing in library clusters that rely on the catalog. Unified as a database that collects bibliographic records to secure the largest possible amount of sources and information by inventorying and controlling intellectual production and providing access to it through network ports while facilitating the process of easy and rapid access.
In this research, reference is made to one of the recent trends in the field of indexing (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) as a standard established by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) that works to regulate the acquisition of traditional materials and digital entities located within the bibliographic description to achieve the required bibliographic control.
This is in order to keep pace with the continuous growth of publishing and intellectual production, and on the other hand, the need to accommodate the change resulting from the emergence of new forms through electronic publishing, and the emergence of networks for accessing information sources.
