Abstract

In today's information-rich era, evaluating information sources is crucial to ensuring their reliability and usefulness. Library and information specialists play a key role in this process. Patents serve as a valuable source of technical and scientific information, yet their utilization in the Arab world remains limited. This study aims to assess the role of patents as an information source, measure beneficiaries' awareness and usage, and analyze the barriers hindering access and utilization. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, utilizing tools such as surveys and expert interviews to provide practical solutions for enhancing the use of patents across various fields.
