Abstract

A general study on Internet search engines, which addresses seven main points: the difference between search engines and directories, the components of Internet search engines and how they work, the percentage of sites covered by search engines out of the total number of Internet sites, indexing of Internet sites by search engines, and the time required for pages to appear. The new web in search engines, search mechanisms in search engines, and finally types of search engines.
