Abstract

The study deals with a simplified presentation of some of the software used by libraries for the visually impaired. The study begins by defining the concept of visual disability, and provides statistical indicators about the number of visually impaired people in the Egyptian governorates. Then the study presents the most famous software used in libraries, and finally the study presents the services of this software in libraries, which are: Spoken reading of written text, Braille printing, computer tutorial, Internet browsing, enlarging text on the screen.
