The first academic study of the specialization of libraries and information at the global level was in the year 1887 AD, by the American researcher Melville Dewey, and about sixty years later the first academic study of the specialization took place in the Arab world, and the first institute for documents and libraries, and after that, various academies for the specialization appeared in various universities. In the Arab world, with the presence of the profession, there were professors specializing in libraries and information who contributed to building teaching curricula and curricula, and set the specialized standards in library departments in Algerian universities.

The contemporary information and library profession, and the profession of specialty professors, is making great strides forward. It is no longer a profession of simple routine and clerical work, but rather a profession that depends on control and the use of new systems and methods that seeks aspirations and an important future with its projects for the specialization of library and information science.

Modern technology has become an integral part of the specialty of library science. With the emergence of modern technologies and their successive developments, there has become an urgent need to develop new scientific curricula that are in line with the scientific and technological level of our universities, and in line with the scientific and training level of professors of the specialty. From the above, we raised the following problem. : What is the reality and future of university professors of all ranks and degrees in Algerian universities?
