Big Data Analytics in Egyptian Public Libraries: Analysing the reality and planning for the future

Abstract

This study aimed to identify what big data and big data analytics are, identify the importance of big data analytics, the elements of big data analytics and tools for dealing with big data, present and analyse some Arab and international experiences of big data analytics in libraries, identify the sources of big data in Egyptian public libraries, identify the benefits of applying big data analytics in public libraries, monitor the knowledge of public library specialists about big data and their sources of knowledge, and explore the ability of public libraries to apply big data analytics in the management of their services and activities.
