Abstract

A study on the Internet and the risks resulting from its use. It begins with a quick summary of the advantages of the Internet and its services in libraries, then presents the most important risks of using the Internet. Then, it deals with Internet censorship in terms of definition, types, and protection tools represented by blocking programs, which the study dealt with in detail, with a focus on its uses in libraries. The study concludes by presenting the position of the Arab countries on Internet censorship, which is divided into strict countries, open countries, and moderate countries. The study is appended to a selected checklist of Arab and foreign intellectual production published on this topic.
