Abstract

The study deals with the applications of eXtensible Mark-up Language Electronic and some of the standards associated with it, and management of bibliographic databases, presenting practical experiences in this field and then their applications in the field of formulating and exchanging metadata descriptions through the ONIX standard and the Dublin core standard and corresponding techniques between different data description standards, as well as in the field of indexing with a focus on The MARC / In Egyptian libraries.
