Abstract

A study on the digital environment, its positive and negative impact, and its role in the information society. It begins with a general introduction about the information society and illiteracy. Then the study is divided into two axes, the first on the negatives of the digital environment, in which it deals with information security, the plans of the Gulf countries to secure information, as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait were exposed to war, with an overview about International experiences then present the positives of the digital environment. The second axis of the study revolves around privacy in the digital environment and deals with general features of the digital environment, the digital library and human rights to information, and the information specialist in light of this environment, and concludes by setting a vision for the development of the digital environment in the Arab world.
