Metadata National portal sites of GCC: an empirical study

Abstract

The study is aimed to analyze the National Portal Metadata of GCC, the experimental methodology applied through the content analysis approach to identify the degree of activation of metadata between the GCC.
For the data collection, the applied study Analysis by a program Meta Tag Analyzer.
The results of study showed are that The National Portal of Saudi Arabia is the only one keens to activate tag Robot amidst GCC.
but Unfortunately the analysis revealed the weakness of the use of descriptors data in those locations, as compared to world standards, In particular, some tags do not accurately reflect the substantive contents of the selected sites.
The study concludes with a set of recommendations it deems appropriate to increase the interest in this aspect.
