This study reviews the most important metadata standards used for the purpose of exchanging data and discovering information resources on the Internet. Then shed light on the problem of interoperability of these standards with each other in order to facilitate the process of exchanging data between different information systems. In this context, the study addresses the process of creating Metadata Crosswalks, through which the process of interoperability of different metadata standards and schemas is achieved. This study also explains the methods of implementing metadata tables and explains the most important problems facing the process of creating these tables, the most important of which is the lack of complete correspondence between the various metadata standards and schemas.
