Obstacles to electronic publishing and the lack of benefit from it in Arab universities: Sohag University as a model: a field study

The current study sought to achieve the following objectives: identifying the obstacles to electronic publishing at Sohag University from the point of view of faculty members, and identifying the reasons for not benefiting from electronic information sources from the point of view of faculty members at Sohag University. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach in Description of the phenomenon under study. The results of the study showed that among the most important obstacles to Arab publishing are the lack of recognition by promotion committees of research published on the Internet, the weak level of some companies working in the field of electronic publishing, and the absence of laws that protect the intellectual property rights of researchers when they wish to publish their research through electronic libraries, which makes it easier to quote without mentioning.
