Abstract

Open access journal directories play an important role in helping researchers in various fields of human knowledge to access information freely available on the Internet. A group of previous studies - which we will discuss in this study later - have proven that the citation rates of digital information sources available for open access are constantly increasing. Despite this, this increase did not lead to the suppression or disappearance of complaints and accusations of the lack or lack of scientific value of information sources available for open access in general. Perhaps open access journals are among the most important sources to which researchers in the field of libraries and information around the world resort, in general. Especially after the emergence of these guides and their availability on the Internet, which facilitates access to open access periodicals. In addition to providing information and bibliographic data about each periodical that makes it available, it provides links to reach the main page of periodicals, and thus to the full texts of periodical articles. However, there is an observation about the directories of open access journals, which is the clear repetition and overlap in the titles of the journals available through these directories. Perhaps the most important thing is the availability of valuable periodicals, along with those of lesser value, or limited scientific value, in one context.
