Abstract

The following study discusses "Building Digital Repositories Systems" in terms of acquisition options offered in proprietary and open systems. It tackles the key principles/criteria applied in selecting such systems, and points out the main systems used in constructing digital repositories. The study examines DSpace system in details covering the reasons for its use, its structure, its main services, the systems compatible with DSpace system.
