Abstract

The study deals with the needs of users to create a digital library in veterinary medicine. The work done through a survey for library users of the National High School of Veterinary (NHSV) in Algeria. The objective of the study is to analyze the real needs of the referred institution patrons in order to set up the future digital library.
The results indicate a crucial need for a model digital library in veterinary medicine that provides to the user’s different digital services using the new tools and techniques available to satisfy their information needs. The digital library will allow for a better visibility of holdings acquired and scientific production of the School on one hand, and valorize the scientific patrimony in the other.
