This study addresses the issue of authority control. It aims to define the process of developing an electronic bilingual authority file based on the Algerian national bibliography access points. The model contains four types of authority file (personal names, corporate bodies, geographic names and subjects). To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher has used the survey method to extract the research sample from the Algerian Union Catalogue, and then develop the electronic model, which contains both linked authority and bibliographic records.
The practical study has allowed defining the different stages of authority control process, and necessary tools to create and approve the bibliographic entries with comprehensive data.
