Abstract

This study aimed to clarify the importance of international publishing as a standard for classifying universities globally according to the known standards for classifying universities in the world. The study provides a presentation of the most famous international university classifications, which are, in order: Shanghai Classification, Times Classification, Webometrics Classification, QS Classification; In terms of defining the classification, its objectives, the criteria upon which the classification is based, and highlighting the relative weight of each criterion, in addition to that, the top universities ranked internationally in each classification in general are clarified, and the ranking of Cairo University in particular is clarified, whether at the level of international universities, Arab universities, or Egyptian universities in each classification. .
