A study about refereeing in specialist periodicals, it starts with a comprehensive introduction about the scientific communication, then define the specialist periodicals and its importance in scientific communication and editing. Then it deals the refereeing process; it talks about its traditional methods, and using the electronic means in refereeing like; mailing lists, e-mail, post review responses, groupware, and wikis. Then talks about the standards of refereeing, and finally deal with negative aspects of the refereeing.
